To meet the needs of oil and gas transmission operators, LaBarge Pipe and Steel Company developed a single facility for delivering coated line pipe.
At our Channelview, Texas Coating Plant, LaBarge is able to apply external Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE) coatings and Abrasion Resistant Overcoating (ARO) to steel pipe in sizes from 2-3/8" O.D. to 42" O.D. with maximum lengths of 65 feet.
For customers who demand a convenient, cost-effective coating solution, LaBarge helps minimize your total project cost - including freight, handling and storage - while improving pipe availability and delivery performance.
Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE) Coating
Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE) provides corrosion protection of pipelines and pipe pilings in service in the harshest environments. The field-proven coating protects against soil stress, bacteria and fungus attack, soil acid, alkalis and all other corrosive elements associated with below ground or underwater use. FBE is also resistant to cathodic disbondment in long-term performance under a wide range of in-service conditions and ambient temperatures.
Fusion Bond Epoxy has tough physical properties that minimizes damage during transit, installation and operation. This coating also demonstrates superior chemical resistance in long term service in a variety of soil conditions. FBE protective coatings provide an excellent base for ARO systems and joint coatings.
Abrasion Resistant Overcoating (ARO)
Abrasion Resistant Overcoating (ARO) provides physical protection of Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE) coatings on pipelines and pipe pilings. ARO is an extremely hard and mechanically strong overcoating designed to protect FBE from damage during pipeline directional drilling and boring. ARO also offers tough abrasion protection to coated pipe and pipe pilings installed in hot or wet applications such as river crossings and rough terrain.
ARO is compatible with all Fusion Bond Epoxy coatings and chemically bonds at the layered interface to create a field-proven corrosion protection system. This tough outer coating also retains a high degree of flexibility that exceeds specification limits of steel for field bending.
